The 'Maremma Toscana' is known for the wild beauty of its countryside, its lovely beaches, interesting history, traditions and excellent cuisine. The Maremma Wine Estate lies in the heart of the 'Maremma' , famous for its production of fine wines. Close by to the west is the coast with its sandy beaches and blue Tyrrhenian Sea and to the east the beautiful medieval town of Massa Marittima. The estate has a shop offering products of its own production such as wine, olive oil, preserves etc. and on request it is possible to visit the wine cellars. Walking and biking can be enjoyed along the estates 6km of mature cypress tree avenues.There are several good restaurants and trattorias to choose from in the nearby area with the nearest at just 1km being one of the best.
It is a very interesting area with much to see and do. Within in few minutes drive there is the delightful medieval village of Scarlino which resting on top of a hill enjoys a fine view of the sea towards the town of Follonica where you will find a sandy beach, a wide range of shops and restaurants and a water fun park, continue a little further along the coast and you will arrive at the pretty Gulf of Baratti famous for its Etruscan Archaeological park, the Rimigliano Nature Park and the Thermal Springs of Venturina or change direction and a short drive south of the estate will take you to Punta Ala surrounded by the sea on three sides, with pine tree woods, beach and tourist port it is well worth a visit as is the seaside village of Castiglione della Pescaia and the Maremma Nature Park just a little further down the coast. When you feel like venturing further you will find that a day trip will take you to any of Tuscany's most important art cities - Florence, Siena, Pisa, Volterra and San Gimignano.

Santa Laura is a rural building that dates to the end of the 18th century. Until the 50’s it used to be the dwelling place of the peasants working on the farm. After a long and careful renovation, has been converted into a first class “agri-tourism”, offering a discreet and elegant hospitality in the heart of the Tuscan Maremma. Santa Laura is divided into 9 apartments. All indipendendt of each other, with kitchen, dishwasher, dining room, aircondition. The garden and the lagrge swimming pool have a panormaic view over the estate vinyard and the nearby Tirrenian Sea and beatifull Maremma countryside.

Description of the apartments:

LA CARRAIA - Sleep 5 persons The apartment is situated on the ground floor of the main building’s annex. It has an independent entrance and a surrounding garden. This very spacious and elegant apartment is made up of three bedrooms, two double room and one single room. Two bathrooms and a sitting room with cooking area. It is located just a stone throw away from the swimming pool and that makes it particularly suitable for families with children.

LA FONTE - Sleep 4 persons The apartment is situated on the ground floor of the main building’s annex. It has its own independent entrance and a private garden, fully furnished with a table, chairs and an umbrella. The apartment has two bedrooms and a bathroom. It has been built paying particular attention to the needs of disabled people.

LA STALLA - Sleep 3 persons. The apartment is situated on the ground floor of the main building’s west side, not far from the swimming pool. It has an independent entrance and a green space in the front. There is a large bedroom with a double bed, a single bed and a bathroom. The main living area is divided into a sitting/dining area and a cooking area.

LA LEGNAIA - Sleep 3 persons On the west side of the main building’s ground floor, one can find “La Legnaia” apartment. With its independent entrance and some green space at the front, this stylish and elegant apartment gains its special atmosphere by the fact that it has been built on different levels joined by a few steps. It consists of a large bedroom with a double bed, a single bed, a bathroom and a sitting room with integrated kitchen. It is located very close to the swimming pool.

IL PORTICO - Sleep 3 persons The apartment is situated on the first floor of the main building. It has its own fully furnished private garden from which one gains access to the apartment. A patio door opens up onto the porch. It has been built paying particular attention to the needs of disabled people. It has a large bedroom with a double bed and a single bed and a bathroom. The sitting room has on one side a cooking area with dishwasher.


IL FIENILE - Sleep 3 persons The apartment is situated on the first floor of the annex where once was the old farmhouse’s barn. It is one of the most beautiful apartments of the Santa Laura complex, with a magnificent view over the sea, the surrounding countryside and the swimming pool. It has a large sitting room a very large bedroom, a bathroom and a sofabed. The bedroom opens up onto a balcony from which one can enjoy a superb view.

LA TERRAZZA - Sleep 3 persons The apartment is situated on the main building’s first floor. It can be accessed either via the reception hall and a flight of stairs or by taking the lift. It is composed of one bedroom, a bathroom and an open plan kitchen with sitting/dining room area. The bedroom is furnished with a double bed and a single bed and opens up onto a large balcony from which one can enjoy a splendid view of the surrounding countryside and the Follonica Gulf.

IL BELVEDERE - Sleep 6 persons The apartment is located on the main building’s first floor. It can be accessed via the reception hall and then a flight of stairs or by taking the lift. This is a very spacious apartment, consisting of the sitting room three bedrooms and two bathrooms. There is also a large balcony with a view over the surrounding countryside and the Follonica Gulf.

LA COLOMBAIA - Sleep 5 persons The apartment is situated on the main building’s second floor. It can be accessed via the reception hall and the stairs or by taking the lift. This apartment has a bedroom with bathroom. For those who would prefer more space, there is the possibility of using another bedroom, this one with en suite bathroom, which is adjacent to this flat. The view over the nearby swimming pool and the surrounding countryside is breathtaking.
