A little jewel of a house for 8, artistically decorated and sparkling clean, with restaurants you can stroll to and a wonderful beach

The beach is what it’s all about in Punta Secca, former fishing village, now yachties’ haven, distinguished by a tall white lighthouse. With its seductive sands and crystal clear waters, it’s busy in summer, bliss out of season, and 150 meters from the house.
Built ten years ago by the architect owner, simple and authentically traditional, the hou se stands within a residential area of holiday lets. There is sea views from the firs floor, it’s steeped in character, all white walls, white beams, mellow terracotta and beautiful rustic touches. White muslin floats at windows; white sofas wait to be sunk into; flowers, fruits and jams greet you on arrival. Light-filled living areas (two) and bedrooms (four) lie upstairs and down, and the kitchen, despite its rustic simplicity, is aimed at real cooks.
The modest garden is enclosed by a high pale stone wall, two sides protected by a cool, fanned veranda, and the rest given over to laurels and lawn. You can shop, eat and potter in town or barbecue on the terrace; swim, sail and scuba dive; and visit Modica, Scicli, Ragusa. If you get to meet the owners, they could not be kinder.
